It's been a good year for my bees. So far I have seven hives situated in the lovely Wentworth Parkland. I am hoping for a good honey crop and this afternoon I'll be visiting my hives to find out whether they can spare a bit of honey for me.
I was summoned to my hives by the gamekeeper the other day because he was alarmed by the number of bees flying around my hives and he thought that one of the colonies was about to swarm. When I arrived to check I found that a swarm from another apiary had found its way into a spare hive, so luckily I had gained another colony. What a great hobby.
