I took my five hives of bees onto the Yorkshire Moors yesterday at around 9.00 pm. I delayed until late so that the honeybees had stopped flying and were safely inside their hive. I fastened the hives up and made sure that the bees couldn't get out and then transported them up to the moors. They are in a lovely field all to themselves with the store cupboard of lovely heather nectar just over the wall. They will feast on heather nectar and make lovely heather honey.
The heather blooms for about 2 to 3 weeks so I am hoping the weather stays fine and warm so they can make the most of it.
All's well with the world - happy days.
